Assignment 2.

In this case we can see two silhouettes, on female and another one male with clair differences. As Gilles Lipovetsky situates the center of the fashion industry during the 19th century in Paris, and Agne Brooks relates the magazines as a world references for fashion nowdays we can afirm that in our sociaty, even if we still have fasion magazines, television has an unlimited power to create fashion tendencys. In the case of the male silhouette we can see the TV character Barney Stinson. This character is famous for his suits, a piece of clothes that make every man look almost the same. The power of Tv is proof through the fact that therelevance of this character provoque a social reaction creating the “ suit day”, a day in wich everyone wears a suit.

The second image is from a Movie character “ La Juani”. In this case we see a very kitsch style.Women doesn't cover herself anymore, her body is expossed. This could be related to the “sex revolution”. In this case there is a extreme change comparing to a hundred years ago. In my opinion this kind of clothes that aparently should make us feel free, that “allows the women show her self” is another type of opression, of treating woman as a sexual object.
